Our cultural, economic and social activities moved on the web, which has become nowadays not a very safe place to browse. The reason? Internet violations.
No weapons, the only thing that the cyber-criminal needs is a pc or at least any other device with an internet connection. Easy to say, beside the traditional way to commit a crime, internet violations have a lot of benefits, such as cheapness, anonymity and omnipresence.
But the pourpose is always the same: taking advantage of his own informatic capabilities and knowledges, in order to make money using the cyberspace.
Recently, the deep and wide use of data processing and their telematic trasmission, caused an increase in cyber crimes and in illicits. These ways to commit a crime through the help of technology are now called: "Cybercrimes".
Which are the telematic crimes?
Everyday, internet allows us to post any multimedial content freely and to share infos, ideas and thoughts with the whole world. Beyon the many advantages you can keep from the net, there are many other risks you should know in order to prevent and avoid them.
It is possible to share all the Computer Crimes in 5 huge categories, just to make it easier and clear:
- Identity theft: also called "phisching", it's a way to 'attack' people which consists in obtaining their own personal infos to blackmail them or use their banking data.
- Malware and virus: typical softwares programmed with the intent to destroy other computers.
- Cyberstallking: threats, insults, sexual harassment and violent behaviour. The aim is to bother other people in the net.
- Spam: not very dangerous, but considered the most common in the web. We're dealing with email messages with unauthorised advertising.
- Child abuse and pornography: the spreading on the web of pictures and videos about child abuse.
As we all know, Internet is a telematic web not censurable and anarchist. Infos and news widely spread through the connected devices without a real control about their accuracy and validity. The web is also very vulnerable, always striked by new millennium criminals: the hackers.
How to surf the web safely?
No database, pc or mobile phone is really safe from a telematic attack, even though it has the best security software. The danger of a virtual attack is always there.

- Change password frequently and avoid to use family members names or other simple personal data. Security code must be complex and characterized by numbers, symbols and capital letters.
- Never click and open private messages with advertising received on your mail.
- Beware of emails and links asking you to give your own personal informations.
- Avoid posting pictures or video with kids. They shoulk be taken and saved by the wrong person.
There are more than 2 bilions functional accounts in the world, and it's very easy to find someone with bad intentions posting and chatting behind the screen.
That's why I think it could really help and be usefull highlight the trick and the dangers everyone can find behind these common telematic platforms. We must pay attention, because Computer crimes are real and they can produce negative consequences which can really ruin user's life or his firms.
